Film Society

About the Society

The Film Society was established by the college in year, 2017. The film can bring the world to students in very real ways. Film Society will provide the students with a rare opportunity to be part of something fun, creative and sociable. It is a platform that complements classroom curricula and highlights issues that teenagers care about, such as technology and society, race and gender identity, and civil rights. It aims at sensitizing the students on issues like caste, creed, class, gender, ethnic and cultural boundaries etc.

The object behind establishing this society is to promote a culture i.e. discussing, learning and debating on different subjects among the students. It will encourage the students to think and create an opinion on the different issues which is vital for the law students. The society aims to show the students the following kinds of films i.e. Educational films, Newsreel depictions of events, Nature/ Environment films, Biographies, Autobiographies and the films designed to raise awareness about social issues and inspire people to action, etc.

The film Society will enable the students to inculcate the following

  • 2. Socializing activators
  • 3. Lesson of teamwork
  • 4. Movies stir the imagination
  • 5. Showcase of world’s Art & culture
  • 6. Films educate because film are mirrors to society
  • 7. Films inspire the students.

Film: Regarding Acid Attack

Laxmi Agarwal, a 15-year-old girl saw her face for the first time after an acid attack and wanted to kill herself. While recalling the event both before and after her attack, she talks about variety of issues – from social justice to education and redefined the term beauty. She talked about her NGO “The Sheroes Hangout”.
